ELAINE BUCHANAN – Sacramento, CA

ELAINE’S BIO

I embarked on my adventures in sewing at the age of 12. My mother was an accomplished seamstress and knitter who inspired me to follow her example. I cut my sewing teeth on McCall’s “Winnie the Pooh” stuffed animals pattern, which I continued to revisit for many years, even as I branched out into garments, quilts and other crafts. I earned my college degree in Art Education from the University of Washington in Seattle.During my subsequent homemaker/motherhood years I continued sewing clothing, soft toys and cloth dolls for my children, their friends, and many local craft boutiques. In 2008, with children grown, I began working for a local sewing center in Folsom, CA, and quickly became an avid (rabid?) quilter. Soon I was sharing my knowledge through teaching adult sewing and other classes.

I am available for trunk shows, classes and private lessons . . . and I am willing to travel!

CERTIFICATION TESTIMONIAL

When Judy Kessinger brought her FitNice program to Sacramento I saw the eager response and happy participants, and knew right away that there was a need I could fill. I am excited to have found a program I can share with others that is so simple, versatile and FUN! I look forward to helping others find as much enjoyment as I have in creating Fabulous, Fun garments that Fit!
