Happy Anniversary To Us…50 Years!

When I was 13 years old, I went to a Teen Club every Monday night.  For those of you that have no idea what a Teen club is — many years ago the local churches here in Louisville would sponsor an open night in their gym for teens to come, listen to music, dance and get to know one another. This was our social media.

I met a friend and classmate of my brother, Bob Kessinger.  He was 17 years old.  My parents were strict but they liked him so much that they let me go on a date with him –in a car.  Back then that was very impressive. Bob and I dated off and on for 8 years and married in 1966.

He joined the army and was stationed with the Intelligence Corp in Cleveland, Ohio.  We married 50 years ago and moved to Cleveland. One year later, we  moved back to Louisville and have been here ever since

We have three beautiful children and two brilliant, wonderful, fabulous grand children.

Bob was always very supportive of all of us as we were of him.  Judy Drury (my business partner called Judes’ ) and I traveled  for Hancock Fabrics for 25 years.  My youngest, Matt was 3 years old when we started the business.  Bob stepped into all the roles from Mom on down during those years.

He retired from a long career in Systems at GE at the age of 55.  Judy and I retired about the same time.  Little did he know that my retirement would not last.   And then came FitNice.   Bob being Bob stepped right in and became what he calls the CEI – CEO.  Carry Everything In—Carry Everything Out!  But more than that, he became my constant companion — holding my hand and guiding me through the last 10 years. Many of you have met him at expos, classes and lately retreats.

And so to that, I wish him a very Happy 50th Anniversary and may we have 50 more years of laughing, crying, worrying and celebrating.  I am blessed!
