Meet Rhonda Pierce – The Newest FitNice Instructor

By Marilyn Morgan

Judy recently introduced Rhonda Pierce as the latest instructor to join the FitNice System team. You may know Rhonda from her position as spokeswoman for SCHMETZ Needles or from her online blog:

Sew More Stitches: www.sewmorestitches.com

I could not wait to talk with her. When asked, she told me she and Judy first met at the former American Sewing Expo in Novi Michigan. She told me there is an advertising picture out there of Judy measuring her. I wonder if Judy can find it? She did ! And here it is:

She has kept in touch with Judy over the years through trade shows and sewing expos. I got the impression that many lifelong friendships are formed at these shows between the vendors and speakers. When I asked Rhonda what attracted her to the FitNice System she said “It’s simplicity and accessibility to all levels of
sewing skill”. I totally agree with her. Rhonda has been out there long enough to have seen just about everything offered for garment fitting. She chose FitNice. We both agreed that once you have your measurements done and your master pattern created, you can create any style option and know the garment will fit and flatter.

She shared that since Judy has announced her certification, she has received many well wishes and positive feedback from women she has met at expo’s and shows. She’s looking forward to teaching the FitNice System and sewing essentials to her students.

We also talked about the newest needle from SCHMETZ – the Super Non-Stick Needle that comes in 4 different sizes. The needle has a non-stick coating; it has a reinforced blade and a larger eye. This needle can be used for machine embroidery, machine applique, hoop and loop tape as well as general sewing. It’s perfect for any project with adhesives and fusibles, vinyls and oilcloth. Sounds like a winner to me!

I asked her where she found the pink printed knit as shown in her picture above . . . and wonder of wonders . . . she found it at Yoder’s Department Store in Shipshewana, Indiana while teaching at the Shipshewana Quilt Festival. This really tickled me as Rhonda lives in the Chicago area and while we in the area have shopped Yoder’s for years; I never thought that they might be nationally known!

I asked Rhonda what excites her or what makes her want to dance on tiptoe . . . and after she laughed, she said the inspiration and passion she receives from the creators of things displayed at expos and shows. She is also inspired by the creations posted on social media. There is a wealth of information and inspiration out there at the click of a mouse. I hope you’ll check out Rhonda’s schedule of upcoming events on her website: www.sewmorestitches.com and sign up for a class. I enjoyed my chat with Rhonda, feeling fortunate that she took time out of her busy schedule to speak with me. Welcome Rhonda to all things Judy !
