What is your biggest issue when sewing for yourself?

Do you read your horoscopes?  Mine today reads “Seeing something being made out of nothing is a thrill.  When you see the thrill in another person’s eyes because of what you’ve done, it’s even better.”  Wow—that kind of says it all.

One of my favorite things about FitNice (and especially when doing retreats) is that I get to work with ladies unraveling the issues they face.  Some of those issues are fabric choices—some are style choices—some are color choices but most are fitting problems.

I have asked this question of my readers before but not on the blog.  What is your biggest sewing concern FABRIC?   FASHION   or   FIT?   Please share your questions and concerns and let’s all get involved.  Ask your friends to get involved as well.  Ladies usually say to me “I used to sew all my clothes and my children’s clothes and even some of my husbands clothes but I quit sewing for myself because________”  Fill in the blank!

I received this from a sewing friend last week   Can you relate?

“All of my life, I have been the “heavy” child!  I was forced to wear clothes that looked “old” because that was what mom could find that would somewhat fit.  The clothes were not pretty; they were not stylish for a child but this was life.
As a teenager, I somehow knew the difference between reality and the mind’s eye.  I knew if I looked in the mirror, I was heavier than my high school friends.  I knew my clothes were still “old and frumpy” but it was the best we could do.  I believe weight is as much psychological as physical therefore in my mind’s eye, I was thin and looked good in my clothes.
Fast forward to the adult!  The mind’s eye is still very much a part of my life as in the life of that teenager, but now, I have the wisdom to know that standing in front of the mirror brings reality.  Yes, I have weight, but when I dress in clothes that fit and have style, my mind’s eye takes over.  I feel great!!  My confidence soars and I am ready to face the world!
The FitNice system with its Master Top and Master Pants along with all of its variations opened my world to clothes that fit and feel fabulous! ” – Sheila
